Jay Z & Beyonce Bailed Out Ferguson & Baltimore Protesters

DREAM HAMPTON SAYS THE CARTERS HELPED WITH THE BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT

(AllHipHop News) “The purist form of giving is anonymous” and “You don’t know all the s*t I do for the homies,” raps Jay Z on “Nickels and Dimes.” On the song, the Brooklyn emcee was hinting that he does a lot of philanthropic work that the public may not know about. Writer/activist Dream Hampton actually revealed some of Jay’s quiet charity on Twitter.

The co-author of Jay’s 2010 book Decoded posted tweets claiming he and wife Beyoncé spent “tens of thousands” of dollars bailing out protesters in Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland. Hampton later deleted the tweets, but she did confirm the information with The Guardian. The British publication could not confirm exactly which protesters received funds or when they were bailed out.

“I’m going to tweet this and I don’t care if Jay gets mad,” tweeted Hampton on Sunday. “When we needed money for bail for Baltimore protesters, I [hit] Jay up, as I had for Ferguson, [he] wired tens of thousands in mins.”

Hampton also wrote the Carters gave money to the Black Lives Matter organization, but the two superstars asked their donations not be made public.
