FIND OUT HOW YOU CAN HELP PAC COME TO LIFE IN NEW MOVIE

(AllHipHop News) Gobi Rahimi directed the late 2Pac in the “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” music video. The filmmaker is now looking to dive deeper into the final moments of Tupac Shakur’s life in the new movie 7 Dayz. Rahimi spoke with Deadline about the project.

“It’s not a movie about Tupac,” said Rahimi. “It’s a movie that will have Tupac in it. It’s about how he changed my life… [Tupac] will play himself. I have archival footage that I shot of him that’s never been seen before that will be written into the film.”

7 Dayz will focus on Rahimi’s experience at the hospital after Pac was shot in Las Vegas. The iconic Hip Hop figure was in a coma, and Rahimi claims he had to deal with “death threats, undercover FBI informants and an uncooperative police department” during that time.

An Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign has been set up to help raise money for the film. The goal is to reach $300,000 in the next 45 days. As of press time, Rahimi has raised $3,800 after one day. Contributors to the campaign will receive various perks depending on the donation amount. 100% of the proceeds go to the making of 7 Dayz.

Rahimi previously worked on Tupac: Resurrection and DMX: Soul of a Man. 7 Dayz is also being produced by Preston L. Holmes (New Jack City, Juice, Hustle & Flow).

2Pac’s music has not been licensed for use in the film, but performers will be recruited to offer “dedication music” for the project. The movie has already been endorsed by members of the Pac affiliate group The Outlawz.
