A$AP Rocky Talks About His Belief In God & Adding Religious Themes To His New Album “A.L.L.A.”

ROCKY CLEARS UP THE RUMORS, HE’S NOT A DEVIL WORSHIPER

(AllHipHop News) A$AP Rocky opens his latest album At.Long.Last.A$AP with the lines “Church bells and choir sounds, tell ’em ‘quiet down.’ Bow your head, the Most High’s around.” Those lyrics from “Holy Ghost” are just a few moments where the Harlem representative addresses the theme of religion on the project. He later adds on the same song, “They ask me why I don’t go to church no more, cause church is the new club and wine is the new bub.”

In an interview with Milk Made, Rocky expounds on his own personal belief in God and why he incorporated his take on spirituality on A.L.L.A. When asked why he chose a religious connotation with the LP, A$AP Rocky responded:

I feel like for me…I’ve never been a person to judge anyone. Everyone has their own belief and they’re entitled to that. As long as you believe in something, some type of higher power, I don’t care if you call it Buddha, God, Allah, Jesus, I don’t care if it’s a rat named Willard. As long as you believe in a higher power, that’s what matters. I’m not even a religious person, but I do believe in God, I pray every single night. Religious people tend to be overwhelming with their beliefs, and I just feel like people should believe in what they do without the need to bash others. So to answer your question, a lot of those thoughts were in my head when this album was being made.

Because of some of the imagery in his music videos like “Wassup,” Rocky has been hit with rumors that he is part of a devil-worshiping secret society known as the Illuminati.

He previously addressed the Internet conspiracy theorists on the tracks “LVL” (“All this talk of Illuminati, ain’t got no clue about me”) and “Phoenix” (“F*ck Illuminati lies, say I’m Lucified/Baptized in the gutter, motherf*cker you decide”).
