Rihanna Is The First Artist To Have 100 Million Song Certifications

RIH HAS REACHED A CAREER MILESTONE

Rihanna has become the first artist to have than 100 million gold and platinum certifications under her belt. The Recording Industry Association of America has announced that Rih has the most Digital Single Awards and is the only artists to reach having 100 million cumulative certified singles.

“Gold & Platinum is the industry’s premier way to celebrate achievement in the marketplace,” said RIAA Chairman & CEO Cary Sherman in a statement .  “We’ve given awards to artists for nearly 60 years, but it’s rare that we have the opportunity to recognize a milestone like the one Rihanna has reached.  Congratulations to Rihanna!  She has not only surpassed RIAA’s one-hundred million mark, but also is the first artist to do so.  It’s an historic feat and a testament to an extraordinary career.”

Today (July 1) the Bajan singer has claimed 48 million more digital single certifications, which include download sales and digital streams.

Certifications that have helped her achieve this career milestone include singles ‘We Found Love ” ( 9X platinum), “Stay” (6X platinum) and even her two latest singles, “FourFiveSeconds” (2X platinum) and “B—h Better Have My Money” (Platinum).

Her next album, R8, is due out this year.
