Spotify has conducted an analysis that shows that hip-hop is most listened to genre on their streaming service. The study looked at playlists from over 1,000 countries across the world and all the mixes had at least one hip-hop in rotation.
This isn’t a shock due to Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again,” Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly and Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late all setting and breaking Spotify records for having the most streams in a day.
With their “Musical Map: Cities of the World,” you can see which songs are listened to the most in specific cities. It is updated bi-monthly to show listening trends.
