ATL Live on the Park season 6 at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park with live performances from classic R&B group, Silk and emerging female artist Vina Mills. Taiye Samuel a.k.a “The Wild Afrikan” hosted the event and pumped up the crowd alongside DJ Mars and the house-band, Quinn and the Jukebox. July’s edition of ATL Live on the Park was sponsored by Gentleman Jack and Magic 107.5.

The night kicked-off with an energetic performance from indie R&B artist Vina Mills. The up-and-coming songstress commanded the stage covering classics and performing an original titled, “Love Em Good.” Event Co-Founder Shanti Das also sent her mentee, Ryan Bolton to the stage to warm up the crowd performing Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come.” DJ Mars kept the crowd entertained with a mix of old school classics and today’s hottest hits before introducing the main act of the night.

Finally, event headliner Silk took the stage and immediately captured the hearts of true R&B fans performing the classic hit “Meeting in My Bedroom.” Next, the group gave the audience a sneak preview of their forthcoming album (set for release Winter 2015) with new songs titled, “Brown Eyed Girl” and “Love 4 you to Like Me.” Just when the crowd thought the night was over, Silk came through and performed some of their greatest hits including, “Don’t Stop Singing,” “Freak Me” and “Lose Control.” Silk continued to surprise attendees as they doused the audience with water and brought several audience members to the stage including R&B star J. Holiday, for a brief cameo performance. Silk also brought some unsuspecting fans on stage. Lil’ G wasted no time giving lap dances and picking up the fans. Between the phenemonal vocal ability, energy, stage presence, and lap dances Silk brought down the house and took ATL Live on the Park back to the ’90s.

Season 6 of ATL Live on the Park returns to Park Tavern next month for their fourth annual *All White Party* on August 11th, 2015. The official line-up will be announced later this month.
