Illa J’s upcoming self-titled album will be released on October 2nd, via NYC imprint, Bastard Jazz. The entire album is produced by Canadian production duo Potatohead People which developed organically from a mutual respect for each other’s craft when Illa J relocated to Montreal.
Today, check out the track “Never Left” which discusses Illa J’s thoughts on his older brother’s legacy since his untimely passing. It’s a family affair for Illa J, who shows genuine respect who honor his legacy without any outside motives, but also addresses those who have taken advantage of Dilla’s legacy for personal gain.
