Wale: Black Lives Should Matter To Black Lives, It’s Been Easy To Blame Other People (VIDEO)

THE MMG STAR DISCUSSES THE BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT

(AllHipHop News) The collective social justice movement that has come to be known as Black Lives Matter was birthed out of the recent highly publicized killings of unarmed African-Americans by officers of the government.

The groups associated with Black Lives Matter have been under attack in recent months. Conservative commentators and police unions have accused BLM activists of inciting violence against law enforcement. Some people have even labeled the protest movement a “hate group.”

Maybach Music Group artist Wale did an interview with Revolt. The DMV area emcee was asked for his thoughts on Black Lives Matter.

Wale said:

I want Black lives to matter to Black lives more. I feel like we can only focus on what we focus on. Modifying the morale of the people starts within. It starts with us. It’s been easy to blame other people for stuff like that and point the finger. But Black lives should matter to Black lives.

I don’t really care about trying to rally up people for the wrong reasons. I want us to realize the power that we got within ourselves and to love ourselves more. This should really be the first objective as far as understanding the whole “black lives” thing. I don’t think we love ourselves enough as much as we used to.
