Alicia Keys and Chris Rock will be joining forces to host the 2015 Black Ball to celebrate the work of Keys’ Keep A Child Alive foundation. The event will help raise the necessary funds to provide treatment and care for children, youth and families living with and affected by HIV in Africa and India, according to a press release.
The Black Ball will take place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Nov.5th. Keys will also be performing, along with LIONBABE, WizKid and others.

“At this year’s Black Ball, we will bring attention to the young, vibrant and extraordinary people of Africa,” said Keys, who is the co-founder of KCA. “Their future is bright, but with 25 million people currently living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa, we need to get AIDS out of the picture once and for all, for Africa to reach their full potential.”
KCA has raised over $24.9 million to donate to children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Keys started the foundation in 2003 with AIDS activist Leigh Blake to ensure that African children and families whi suffer from the virus would get much needed treatment and medications. KCA also provides financial and programmatic support to seven innovative, grass-roots programs in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda and India, serving over 56,000 people annually.
