Wale Says Meek Mill “Ain’t No Loser” & Acknowledges His Influence On Pop Culture

THE MMG MEMBER SHOWS SOME LOVE TO HIS LABELMATE

(AllHipHop News) Before the back-and-forth with Meek Mill on social media this week, Wale had some nice things to say about the fellow Maybach Music Group star. The DMV native actually defended Meek during his interview with The Breakfast Club which ignited the public feud, and Wale even followed that by also backing up the Dream Chasers leader while speaking with the Rap Radar podcast.

Wale was discussing how he felt the mainstream press should have left it to Hip Hop media to cover the battle between Meek and Drake. He ended the statement by adding, “[Meek] ain’t no loser… [He sold] a nifty 250 [thousand albums first week].”

Wale was also asked about his impact on sneaker culture. The Album About Nothing creator used the conversation to express how Meek is at a level where he can influence his followers to embrace different trends.

“When an artist becomes popular his interests become pop culture. If Makonnen goes platinum the first week everybody’s gonna be in there like mannequins,” stated Wale. “That’s how it goes. When Meek hit, everybody was bike life.”

The episode was taped prior to Meek’s decision to slam Wale on Instagram for suggesting the “R.I.C.O.” rhymer was not prepared to battle against Drake. Since that IG post, Rick Ross has released a statement claiming the situation is settled, and the team is now focused on releasing MMG’s Self Made Vol. 4 compilation.
