Missy Elliott will be receiving the Innovator award from Billboard at their 2015 Women in Music ceremony, Billboard reports. The honor salutes artists who have “consistently broken new ground in pop music.”

“Missy Elliott is a once-in-a-generation artist and producer whose artistic brilliance and creative vision have transformed pop and hip hop music,” said Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group. “There are few artists more respected by her peers and more creative. We are proud to honor her with the inaugural Women in Music Innovator award.”

Missy recently reemerged back on the scene with her new Pharell-assisted single, “WTF.”

The Women In Music event will take place on Dec. 11th in New York City and will air on Dec. 18th on Lifetime.
