The Tupac Biopic Has A New Director

THE FLICK ABOUT PAC HAS A NEW

The biographical film about Tupac Shakur has been stalled due to not being able to keep a director on board. John Singleton jumped ship earlier this year due to disagreeing with the direction of the film and director Carl Franklin  also stepped away from the film back in April. Now, music video director Benny Boom has been brought on to direct the biopic, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Boom has directed two films before, 2009 film Next Day Air starring Mike Epps and Mos Def, and S.W.A.T: Firefight. He has directed music videos for artists like 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj, Keyshia Cole, Wale, Trey Songz and many more.

Morgan Creek must begin production on the film soon though because the rights to Tupac’s music will revert back to his mother, Afeni Shakur, by the end of the year if they don’t.
