It was reported Shmurda (born Ackquille Pollard) was supposed to have a good chance of being released on $2 million bail after a bond package was presented that included his aunt’s four New York real estate properties and other family members working closely with a bondsman.

Shmurda has now spent over 350 days in jail since his arrest in December 2014. The now 21-year-old New Yorker was hit with conspiracy, drugs and weapons possession charges. Fellow GS9 rapper Rowdy Rebel and 13 other people were taken into custody as well. Shmurda’s next court date is scheduled for January 11.
