Joe Budden Calls Out Charlamagne Tha God For His ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ Comment (AUDIO)

THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE MEMBER HAS WORDS FOR HIS FELLOW PODCASTER

(AllHipHop News) It has been awhile since Joe Budden sparked controversy from something he said during his popular podcast. But the Slaughterhouse member may have caused his latest firestorm by referring to fellow podcaster Charlamagne Tha God as an idiot.

During “I’ll Name This Podcast Later Episode 53,” Budden took issue with something Charlamagne tweeted after Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly lost the Album Of The Year Grammy award to Taylor Swift’s 1989. The co-host of the Brilliant Idiots podcast took aim at individuals that were initially critical of Kendrick’s platinum certified LP but expressed frustration the project did not win the trophy for AOTY.

Budden responded:

I’m on record saying that Kendrick album is not for me. I still feel like that Kendrick album is not for me. It’s not something I’m going to wake up and play. It’s not something that I’m going to get in my car and play. However, I’m objective enough to be able to recognize that it’s probably one of the better Hip Hop albums ever released. There’s a difference there.

So now let’s talk to the idiots. Charlamagne Tha God – and we’re going to call you an idiot, because lord knows you’ve said enough about me on your show. You’re still my n*gga, but that ain’t gonna stop this idiot moment from talking to you.

He’s smarter than that. He’s one of the smarter people in radio, but when he says something real stupid, somebody’s got to call him out on it. Because he has such a large outlet, when he’s stupid, all the stupid people become even dumber…

Charlamagne, you can’t understand black people – who may not like that music – wanting to support one of their own at the top of the genre in that circle, in that venue, on that platform, and want to see him do well because of the message that he’s speaking?

I’m sure you understand that, because you have your f*cking Black Panther moments too. So I don’t get why we can’t support Kendrick, want to see him win ,and want to see him do well, even if that album may not be for us or for me. Those two are totally separate statements for me.
