“When I get home, I ain’t even gonna lie, I’ve been thinking about getting into politics and everything because this thing gotta stop. I’m ready to get into social injustice and start protesting,” Shmurda told Revolt. “I’m about to really be getting in tune with [this] because it’s crazy what the system is doing and how it’s not even following its own laws.”

The Brooklyn rhymer has been very outspoken about his treatment since his arrest in December 2014. Shmurda has complained that his constitutional rights are being violated, because the New York District Attorney continues to fight against him getting released on bail.

Shmurda’s bail request was denied for the seventh time in January. The 21-year-old “Hot N*gga” spitter is facing charges for drugs, weapons possession, and conspiracy. He has not been convicted of any crimes but remains locked up at a Westchester County jail. Shmurda has been behind bars for over 430 days.
