(AllHipHop News) Last week, rumors circulated that Jay-Z’s growing music streaming service Tidal was being examined for purchase by numerous rival companies. One of the parties that were allegedly interested in acquiring the company the most was Samsung. The mobile company behind the Galaxy series has already made deals for several albums under Jay-Z, including Magna Carta Holy Grail and Rihanna’s recently released LP ANTI, which both went platinum in a matter of days thanks to the company’s help. Tidal and Samsung has allegedly been in talks to merge for a few months.

However, Samsung has officially stated that they have no interest in purchasing Tidal. Recently, Variety  reached out to a company representative, who claimed that the rumors were all false.

“The rumor of Samsung acquiring Tidal is not true”

Rumors about Samsung acquiring Tidal originally started when Jay-Z was spotted on the company grounds to meet with an executive, but maybe that was for purchasing those couple of million copies of ANTI.
