TY DOLLA $IGN MAKES A CASE FOR HIS BROTHER TC DURING SCREENING AND PANEL

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Ty Dolla $ign hosted a screening and panel discussion for his mini-documentary “Free TC” which takes on the issue of wrongful imprisonment.

Tastemakers like B.J. The Kid, Raven Felix, radio celebrity Big Boy, DJ Carisma and other luminaries showed up to Raleigh Studios in Hollywood, where Ty hosted the screening and a panel discussion.

“Free TC” was directed by Daniel Kaufman and tells the account of Ty Dolla $ign’s brother Gabriel “TC” Griffin.

Griffin was a member of The School Yard Crips in 2004 when he was convicted of first-degree murder.

The documentary explains the situation that lead Griffin to be sentenced to 67-years in prison for a crime he maintains he did not commit.

The issue of wrongful convictions was discussed during a panel that followed the screening that featured insights from Marcus “Big Ship” Bell of My Anti Gang, Sabra Williams, Founder of The Actors Gang Prison Project, James Anderson of Anti-Recidivism Coalition and Obie Anthony, who served 17 years for a murder he did not commit before he was found wrongfully convicted and exonerated.
