Rihanna Joins The Beatles In Second Place For Hot 100 Record

(AllHipHop News) Rihanna’s smash “Work” keeps helping the superstar singer cement herself in the record books. The single topped the Hot 100 chart for the eighth straight week, and RiRi is now in a tie with The Beatles for the second-most total weeks spent at #1.

The Bajan beauty now has a total of 59 weeks in the top spot during her career. Only Mariah Carey’s 79 weeks is ahead of Rihanna and The Beatles. They are followed by Boyz II Men with 50 weeks and Usher with 47 weeks.

In February, Rihanna jumped into 5th place for the most number of Top 10 hits when “Work” landed at #9. A month later the Anti album creator became the only artist to have a #1 single on the Hot 100 on seven consecutive albums.

Rihanna has racked up 14 career #1 singles. She is currently in fourth place on that all time list behind The Beatles (20), Elvis Presley (18), and Mariah Carey (18).
