2016 Afropunk Festival Returns With Ice Cube, Flying Lotus, Janelle Monae, Saul Williams + More

(AllHipHop News) The lineup for Afropunk Brooklyn has been revealed with a stacked celebration of musical and cultural diversity underscored by an election year.

The event is slated to take place on August 27th & 28th at Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. This year the festival offers Ice Cube, Flying Lotus, The Internet, Thundercat, Angel Haze, Saul Williams Benjamin Booker, Skunk Anansie, Skye & Ross from Morcheeba, Galant, SPZRKT and several others (full lineup below). Afropunk will host three stages to accommodate the over 60 acts.

2016 Afropunk’s theme is “POWER TO THE PARTY.”

Organizers stated in a press release, “Power, it’s a feeling, it’s an energy, it’s the undisputed connection between cause and effect – the best of us give it away, the worst usurp it, but living modern life to the fullest, means either mastering your relationship to it or walking in its shadow. We are not blind.”

Additionally, Afropunk Brooklyn offers 100 craft artisans and 25 food vendors.
