On Friday evening Pastor Troy opened the show and took us back with the ’99 classic “No Mo Play In GA.” Goodie Mob had the crowd jamming to “Get Rich To This,” and T-Pain took fans down memory lane with his hit “Buy You A Drink” and many of his other classics.

Naughty By Nature took us back with “Hip Hop Hooray” and “Jamboree.” They also did a tribute set to the late great Tupac! Uncle Snoop Dogg brought the house down by closing the night. It was clearly a gangster party as fans rapped along to classics such as “2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted,” and “Next Episode.”

With the exception of Master P, Saturday belonged to R&B. Jon B opened the show with his classic “They Don’t Know” & “Are U Still Down.”

SWV had women singing at the top of their lungs to their classics such as “Weak” & “Anything.” Master P turned up the energy and made all in attendance say Uhhhhhhh.

TLC reminded fans why they were regarded as legends and how they sold 75 million when they slid into their classic such as “Creep,” “Scrubs,” and “Waterfalls.”

Babyface reminded R&B fans why he is heralded as one of the greatest artists and songwriters of our generation as he eased in between performing his own hits and the hits that he has written for others. Babyface took you back to the days where you fell in love as he sung “Soon As I Get Home” and After 7’s#### [penned by him] “Ready Or Not”. New Edition is truly one of the best male R&B groups to do it, and they reminded you why when they sung “If It Isn’t Love’ and hit their classic choreography.

The Funk Fest concert series truly unites music lovers as is celebrates classic and timeless music! Funk Fest will be in Birmingham this Saturday, May 21, 2016 with New Edition, Guy, 8Ball & MJG, and Silk!
