Rapper “MC Hawking” To Perform For Real Stephen Hawking At 2016 Starmus Festival

MC HAWKING GETS SOME REAL LOVE!!

(AllHipHopNews) Satirical Hip-Hop artist MC Hawking announced that he will be performing at the 2016 Starmus Festival as the rapping alter ego of the super genius theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking.

Ken Lawrence, better known as MC Hawking created his Stephen Hawking alter-ego in the early 2000s and became a hit within the geek community with internet sensations such as “The Hawkman Cometh” and “Entropy.”

This led to Lawrence securing a record deal with Brash Music and the release of his debut album MC Hawking: A Brief History Of Rhyme.

Interestingly MC Hawking uses a synthesized text-to-speech program to emulate Stephen Hawking’s distinctive voice.

The real Hawking has to communicate through a distinctive speech generating device, due to his impaired motor skills caused by his ailment, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

“It is an honor to perform not only for Professor Hawking, but to other legendary scientists, musicians, and world dignitaries,” Ken Lawrence when speaking of the performance. “Professor Hawking is a pillar within the scientific community and it still feels surreal that I will be performing for him.”

The Starmus Festival was founded in 2011 by famous astrophysicist Garik Israelian and features a mixture of music, science, and art and features presentations from Astronauts, Cosmonauts, and Nobel Prize Winners.

The 2016 edition of the festival will be held in Canary Islands, Spain from June 27-July 2 in honor of Professor Stephen Hawking.

MC Hawking is due to release the video for “Fear of a Black Hole” with fellow nerd MC, MC Lars next week. The song is off his upcoming fall LP, The Hawkman Returneth.
