Twitter Users React To Gucci Mane Reportedly Headlining “All Lives Matter” Concert

SOME FANS ARE NOT HAPPY WITH GUWOP

(AllHipHop News) The phrase “All Lives Matter” may seem to be a benign statement about respecting and valuing all people regardless of race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.

However, in many cases, #AllLivesMatter has become a flippant response used to marginalized and mock the Black Lives Matter movement.

The hashtag is also controversial because many of the conservatives that state “All Lives Matter” do not regularly speak out against deadly police violence against African-Americans. They also tend to be supporters of warfare overseas and the death penalty which allows critics to claim the “All Lives Matter” statement is hypocritical and insincere.

Several celebrities have found themselves catching backlash for posting #AllLivesMatter on social media. One of the most recent receivers of negative reactions online was singer/actress Jennifer Lopez.

Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane is now facing some of that same criticism after reports circulated that he is headlining an “All Lives Matter/Stop the Violence” concert in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Apparently, a portion of the proceeds from the concert are going to benefit the families of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, but that did not stop Twitter users from questioning Gucci’s supposed decision to participate in an event with the title “All Lives Matter.”
