Master P “Saddened” By Events In U.S., Expresses Feelings In New Song With Daughter Cymphonique

MASTER P. HAS SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT POLICE BRUTALITY!

(AllHipHop News) Master P is the latest artist to weigh on police brutality with the new single “You Need Me and I Need You,” which features his daughter Cymphonique.

The single was produced by Bemaji Tillmon and Blaqnmild, and showcases the New Orleans, Louisiana rap mogul expressing his sorrow over the outburst of police violence in the United States.

“I am saddened and disappointed that this is happening in America. I am not saying all cops are all bad, but those that commit crimes should be tried as criminals just like everyone else,” Master P. told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “For those cops that are doing great jobs in the community, they should be honored. No more paid vacations for killing people in cold blood.

“Waking up and seeing Alton Sterling murdered for selling cds in Baton Rouge which is my own backyard, is heartbreaking, this could have been me,” Master P continued. “Then the next day I see another African American man getting gunned down on Facebook, next to his girlfriend. On top of the, five policemen is murdered in Dallas. This is unacceptable. The only way that we’re going to be able to fight this is with love.”

Master P. turned to his Christian faith to draw strength and quoted a Biblical verse to show solidarity with the African-American community in a tumultuous time in the country.

“1st John 4:21 says that anyone that loves God must love his people. I know is tough for us right now but we can get through this. This is not a black or white issue, this is a human issue. We got our hands up, don’t shoot. We all we got. Together we can save the next generation.”
