DJ Khaled Moved To New York City In Order To Secure A Feature From Jay Z (VIDEO)

“I HAD TO LET HIM KNOW I’M NOT GOING NOWHERE”

(AllHipHop News) According to DJ Khaled, the Miami representative was willing to relocate to Jay Z’s hometown in order to make sure the Roc Nation boss would jump on one of his tracks.

“It took me years to get Jay Z to do a record for me, and it’s not like he did not want to do it. It’s just I had to make it known that I wanted Jigga on my record,” Khaled informed Music Choice. “People don’t even know – I never really told this story – I basically got a condo in New York City for a whole year to stay close by him and let him know how hungry I was for that verse.”

He added, “It was a year process that I had to go back and forth from Miami to New York. I had a condo in New York, so I stayed in New York. I had to let him know I’m not going nowhere.”

Jay collaborated with Khaled for 2014’s “They Don’t Love Me Know More” which also featured Meek Mill, Rick Ross, and French Montana. They also recently teamed up with Future for “I Got The Keys” off Khaled’s forthcoming Major Key album.
