Drake’s ‘Views’ Becomes The 8th Album In The Last 20 Years To Spend 11 Or More Weeks At #1

STREAMING TOTALS ARE KEEPING DRIZZY ATOP THE CHART

(AllHipHop News) Views continues to be the leading album on the Billboard 200. The Drake studio LP spends its 11th nonconsecutive week at #1 on the album chart, putting it in rare company.

According to Billboard, Views joins a list of only 8 albums that have managed to hold onto the top spot for at least 11 weeks in the past 20 years. The last project to score over 10 weeks in the pole position was Taylor Swift’s 1989 in 2015.

While the previous seven albums managed to maintain control of the Billboard 200 through pure album sales, Drake’s dominance has come from streaming numbers.

In the most recent week, 64% of the chart units for Views came from streams, 18% from track equivalent albums, and 18% from traditional album sales.

NeedToBreathe’s HardLove debuts atop the Top Album Sales chart. The Christian Rock band sold 46,000 copies of HardLove.

Drake’s Views sold around 16,000 copies in the same week with a total of 89,000 equivalent album units.
