Nelly’s “Hot In Herre” Spikes In Audio Streams After Fans Hold #HotInHerreStreamingParty To Rescue Rapper Of Financial Woes

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Nelly has seen a major boost in his music streams lately after news hit that he was facing major tax debt.

In response, fans of the artist started social media campaigns #HotInHereStreamingParty and #SaveNelly to help rid the rapper of his current financial woes.

Billboard reports that on-demand audio streams of Nelly’s “Hot In Herre,” spiked by 219 percent on September 13 and for the week ending on September 13, audio streams of the track zoomed to 714,000 — a gain of 90 percent compared to the previous week’s haul of 376,000.

Also, Nelly’s entire catalog drew a 96 percent increase on September 13 compared to the previous day (837,000 vs. 427,000 domestic audio streams).

In addition, the rapper’s entire catalog also generated 3.49 million on-demand domestic audio streams in the week ending Sept. 13 — a jump of 15 percent over the previous frame (3.02 million).

Fans began rallying around Nelly after it was reported that Nelly’s tracks would need to be streamed a total of 287,176,547 times to possibly generate enough revenue for him to pay off his debts.

It was reported September 11 that Nelly owes the federal government $2,412,283 in back taxes and also has outstanding state taxes tallying up to $149,511 including interest and penalties.
