Lupe Fiasco Discusses His ‘Food & Liquor’ Album 10 Years After Its Release (AUDIO)

(AllHipHop News) On September 19, 2006, Lupe Fiasco dropped his debut studio album Food & Liquor.

The Chicago rhymer says he no longer does interviews, but he did upload audio of himself talking about his 10-year-old classic LP.

Lupe used the over one-hour solo podcast titled “Ten Yurrs Layda” to reflect on Food & Liquor with stories about the creation and release of the project.

Widely considered one of the best debut albums in Hip Hop history, Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor was nominated for the Best Rap Album Grammy award.

“Kick, Push” became Lupe’s first breakout single and was nominated for the Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Song Grammys.

In addition, the song “Daydreamin'” featuring Jill Scott off Food Liquor won the Grammy for Best Urban/Alternative Performance in 2008.
