Drake’s ‘Views’ Becomes First Album To Reach 1 Billion Streams On Apple Music

MORE BIG NUMBERS FOR THE OVO SOUND LEADER

(AllHipHop News) It appears that $19 million deal Drake signed with Apple Music paid off when it comes to pushing album numbers.

The OVO leader posted images on Instagram revealing his latest studio album Views has collected over 1 billion streams on the service.

“Thank you to everyone. OVO Sound to the [world],” wrote Drake on IG.

Views was released on April 29 via Apple Music.

The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 1.04 million equivalent album units (852,000 sold copies) in its first week.

Drake has dominated the Billboard 200 for 13 nonconsecutive weeks, and the LP again hit the top spot this week.

Last month, it was announced Views became the first 2016 album to reach triple-platinum status.
