Dreka Gates Addresses Her Husband Kevin Gates Being Sentenced To 6 Months For Kicking Fan

(AllHipHop News) This week Kevin Gates was convicted of misdemeanor battery for kicking a female fan at his 2015 concert.

The judge in the case sentenced the Louisiana rapper to 180 days in jail, even though the prosecutor was only seeking a two-month punishment.

Kevin’s wife took to Instagram to address the legal outcome.

Dreka Gates wrote:

You mean to tell me that [Kevin Gates] kicked the girl in the red jumpsuit and knocked the breathe out her? Because that’s what she’s been claiming and testified today in court. If anything her friend choked the f-ck out of her. She claims she fainted, but yet she and her friend stayed at the club at the front of the stage even after this incident. She also acquired a civil attorney early on…what does that tell you? She also touched him FIRST (more than once) without his consent but yet he was the one sentenced to jail today for the same crime. She and her friend also had very conflicting stories and were tripped up in many lies today in the courtroom. It was comical and sad at the same time to see how desperate people are for fame and money. Not to mention the prosecutors wanted to give him 60 days with anger management and community service but yet the judge decided to give him 180 days?!? Are you f-cking kidding me. Kevin Gates has maintained he was protecting himself when he kicked then 18-year-old Miranda Dixon at the Rumors Nightclub in Lakeland, Florida last August.

The Islah album creator attempted to use the state’s “Stand Your Ground” law as a defense in court.

Days after the incident took place, Gates released the song “The Truth.”

The track includes the 30-year-old Atlantic Records recording artist stating he warned Dixon about grabbing his penis several times before kicking her.
