Donald Glover Talks Receiving Golden Globe Nominations For ‘Atlanta’

THE ACTOR SPEAKS ON HIS HIT TV SHOW

(AllHipHop News) Donald Glover’s 2016 is ending with some great moments.

On Sunday, the multi-talented entertainer won the Critics’ Choice Award for “Best Actor in a Comedy Series” for his portrayal in Atlanta.

Then the next day, Glover found out his popular Hip Hop-themed television show picked up Golden Globe nominations for “Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy” and “Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.”

“I really wasn’t expecting it last night, and then I’m getting texts and messages from family and friends this morning,” Glover told the L.A. Times about the Globe nods.

Atlanta became an instant ratings success, and the series was renewed for a second season after only airing two episodes.

The program follows Earn (Glover), Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), and Darius (Keith Stanfield) as the trio attempts to navigate their way through life in the Georgia capital.

“This is a show where points of view converge,” said Glover. “It’s easy to have a show that has a timeline that gives you the point of view you want. But this show has differing points of view. That’s the purpose.”

As far as Golden Globe night, Glover hopes to connect with a Hollywood legend.

“I want to get drunk with Tom Hanks,” added the comedian/rapper.
