Run The Jewels Readies Season 2 Of WRTJ On Beats 1 and Adds Gangsta Boo To “Run The World” Tour

RUN THE JEWELS ANNOUNCE SEASON TWO OF WRTJ ON BEATS 1

(AllHipHop News) Run The Jewels are following the surprise release of their critically acclaimed album with the launch of the second season of their WRTJ radio show on Apple Music’s Beat 1.

Killer Mike and El-P made the announcement today (January 3), revealing that WRTJ will air this Friday (January 6).

The pair play songs from Run The Jewels 3 and discuss how they made the album, and why they decided to drop the album out of nowhere on Christmas Day.

The guys have also tapped Nick Hook and Memphis rap veteran Gangsta Boo to replace Spark Master Tape and to serve as the openers for the North American leg of the Run The World Tour, which kicks off on January 11 at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia.

Physical editions of Run The Jewels 3 are set for release on January 13 in North America and on January 20 internationally.

“F##k it. we couldn’t help ourselves. it just feels right. after a crazy f###### year and with a full tour about to set off we asked ourselves what we were waiting for, and we just couldn’t come up with a great answer,” RTJ group members Killer Mike and El-P said in a joint statement. “You’ve been with us since we started this thing and it’s made such a huge difference in our lives to have your energy and love. Thank you. So as a gift to all of you who have allowed us to continue to do what we love: RTJ3. We busted our a#### on this one and we think we made something special this round. Grab it for free, buy it on any of the digital platforms you like or stream it. Physical copies will still be dropping in January as announced but until then: enjoy and we will see you on the road!”
