Charlamagne Tha God: Nicki Minaj Called Me “Phony” For Tweeting About Remy Ma’s “ShETHER”

“SHE CAN RAP, BUT SHE CAN’T RAP BETTER THAN REMY”

(AllHipHop News) The list of people being brought into the Remy Ma/Nicki Minaj beef continues to grow.

Meek Mill, Drake, Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Safaree, Ebro Darden, and The Game have become part of the discussion about the war of words between Nicki and Remy.

The Breakfast Club host Charlamagne Tha God is now claiming the “Make Love” performer allegedly took issue with him for tweeting about Remy’s “ShETHER” diss record.

“Remy Ma so damn disrespectful,” tweeted CTG on Saturday following the release of  “ShETHER.”

He later added, “I love the culture!!!! All aspects of the culture!!!”

According to Charlamagne, Nicki was not happy with his tweet and reached out to him about it.

“[Nicki] texted me and told me I was phony cause I tweeted out ‘Remy Ma is so disrespectful,'” said the Uncommon Sense star. “I’m a fan of the culture. I’m a fan of Hip Hop.”

Charlamagne also expressed he wants to see Nicki respond to Remy with lyrics that are not about her sales success, her wealth, or her connection to stars like Beyoncé.

“She can rap, but she can’t rap better than Remy,” stated Charlamagne. “Remy said, ‘I’m the queen of rap.’ She didn’t say, ‘I’m the queen of record sales.’ She didn’t say, ‘I’m the queen of Instagram followers.’ She didn’t say, ‘I’m the queen of Twitter followers.'”

The South Carolina representative continued, “She said, ‘I’m the queen of rap.’ So you have to have better bars.”

Back in 2012, Nicki tapped Charlamagne Tha God for the “Press Conference” bonus track on Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

The two apparently had a falling out a few years ago over Charlamagne referring to Nicki’s “Anaconda” as “corny” and his support for Iggy Azalea.

“I got mad love for Nicki Minaj even though she ain’t f-cking with me right now. She unfollowed me on Twitter. She made calls to people in radio, people that I work for, and said she’s never coming on The Breakfast Club again,” said Charlamagne at the time.

However, Minaj did speak to The Breakfast Club over the phone last October.
