The Beatnuts Celebrate Hispanic Culture With Hundreds Of People In Queens

THE RAP LEGENDS CELEBRATE THEIR HISPANIC CULTURE!

Recently in New York, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Neighborhood Flavor brought 850 people together to salute seven individuals whose influence uplifts the Hispanic Community of Queens, beyond zip codes, borders, and labels.

Honorees, pioneering Panamanian-Mexican filmmaker, photographer, and actor, Danny Hastings, and Lifestyle Remix creator and activist, Rebecca “Gitana” Torres, hosted the private event which attracted a cross-cultural group of foodies, music and art fans.

Trailblazing Hip-Hop duo The Beatnuts also held a spot on the Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Neighborhood Flavor honoree list. The Corona and Jackson Heights-bred producer-rappers, Jerry ‘JuJu’ Tineo and Lester ‘Psycho Les’ Fernandez headlined the performance showcase.

 

Kat Lazo, vlogger and video producer, currently at we are mitú; Richard Chiriboga, award-winning digital media leader and founder of CorrienteLatina.com; Sebastian Morel-Ferreira, national fitness expert and Peruvian world music dancer, Samantha Diaz, were also crowned for their impact.

Latin fare by famed Hispanic-owned restaurant brands Pio Pio, Mama Juana’s Queens and Sabor Latino kept hunger at bay. Guests were treated to specially curated cocktails like the MaracuJack, which features passion fruit, and Jack Honey Lemonade, by Lemon Ice King of Corona.


Jack Daniel’s invited renowned Queens-based muralists TECK, Nicholai Khan, Free 5 and legendary street artist, Louie “KR.One” Gasparro to display their artistry via a live painting performance that mused the borough’s legendary Graffiti Mecca, 5-Pointz. Jack Honey T-Shirts were also customized on-site and gifted to event-goers.

Guests not only were given a ticket to partake in an immersive tasting of the Jack Daniel’s family of brands, they were also given a shot of technology through Jack Daniel’s 360-degree virtual reality experience that takes fans on a tour of its distillery in the space designed to mimic the Jack Daniel’s Barrel House.

Celebrity barbershop, Gents, manned a pop-up shop, lining up edges and keeping party-people faded with fresh designs, as they watched exclusive content from HBO Latino.

ha Diaz kicked off the performance showcase with her mélange of styling, belly dance, Bollywood, Samba, and Hip-Hop. Emerging artists, Colombian urban-pop singer, Evenny and Ecuadorian Latin rock band, TeoriaQ, also took the stage, further laminating the areas wide-ranging talent. DJ New Era and DJ J-Star served as official party-starters.
