(AllHipHop News) Much of the music world is convinced a new Jay Z album is on the horizon.
Recent photos of Hov in Jamaica sparked more speculation the Roc Nation boss is set to drop new music soon.
Billboard spoke to Damian Marley, and the reggae star confirmed he hooked up with Jay in the studio.
“Well, I did some work with him for some stuff that he’s working on,” said Marley. “I’m not really sure of the details of his project in that sense, but we worked on some music together. I’ve been a fan of his music since he came out. We’ve never done any musical work together. So that was a joy to finally work together musically.”
The “Nail Pon Cross” singer also talked about giving Jay a tour of Kingston and sharing the Jamaican city’s musical history.
Marley’s connection with the Brooklyn emcee extends beyond just showing him around the Caribbean island.
In 2015, Junior Gong officially went into business with Jay as one of Tidal’s artist-owners.
Recent “4:44” banners sponsored by the streaming service led to more rumors that a Jay Z project was near release.
The ads were actually promoting an upcoming film starring Mahershala Ali, Lupita Nyong’o, and Danny Glover.
Previously, Damian Marley collaborated with Hip Hop artist Nas for the joint studio LP titled Distant Relatives.
