(AllHipHop News) The Weeknd and Drake are among the musicians in the running for Canada’s Polaris Music Prize.

The artists have been included on the nominations longlist, which was announced on Tuesday (June 13), and their respective releases, Starboy and More Life, will compete for a place on the final shortlist.

Leonard Cohen’s You Want It Darker, Carly Rae Jepsen’s E.MO.TION Side B, and A Tribe Called Red’s We Are The Halluci Nation are also among the current contenders.

The top 10 finalists, who are vying for Canada’s album of the year title, will be announced next month.

The winner will be feted in September at the Polaris Gala.

Past winners include Kaytranada (2016), Buffy Sainte-Marie (2015), and Arcade Fire (2011).
