Rae Sremmurd Working On New “Shadowman” Comic Book

RAE SREMMURD TO DEBUT NEW SHADOWMAN COMIC READ MORE!

(AllHipHop News) Rappers Rae Sremmurd are taking on the comic book world with their first superhero story.

“Black Beatles” hitmakers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi have teamed up with Valiant Comics bosses to debut “SHADOWMAN/RAE SREMMURD #1,” which will detail a showdown between their Shadowman superhero and the hip-hop duo in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Slim admits joining forces with writer Eliot Rahal and illustrator Renato Guedes was a real thrill for the self-confessed comic book nerd.

“Comic books are a form of entertainment,” he told Billboard.com. “I get to make all the sounds and effects in my head. It’s just like you use your imagination – you go through the pictures and the pictures are always awesome. It’s like an escape from reality.”

“Shadowman is crazy,” he continued. “It has a lot of twists and turns. It keeps me involved and interested. I can’t even take my eyes off of Shadowman when I read it. I have to finish the book.”

Valiant CEO and Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani added: “Rae Sremmurd are huge comic books fans, and everyone here at Valiant is a huge fan of their music. The combination of their talents, along with those of Eliot Rahal and Renato Guedes – two creators that we’re very excited about – feels like a project that will take fans and readers by surprise.”

The first issue in the “SHADOWMAN/RAE SREMMURD” series is set for release in October.
