Madonna Blocks Sale Of Break-Up Letter Written By Tupac Shakur

THE MATERIAL GIRL WINS AN EMERGENCY COURT ORDER

(AllHipHop News) Pop queen Madonna has succeeded in getting a New York judge to stop a scheduled auction of her personal items.

The collection included a letter written by the late Tupac Shakur as well as another note where the Material Girl called Whitney Houston ” “horribly mediocre.”

New York Daily News reports an emergency court order filed by Madonna requested the judge block Gotta Have It! from selling the collectibles.

The Pac letter made news because it featured the “Hail Mary” emcee explaining why he wanted to break up with Madonna.

“For you to be seen with a black man wouldn’t in any way jeopardize your career, if anything it would make you seem that much more open and exciting,” read the handwritten note. “But for me at least in my previous perception I felt due to my ‘image’ I would be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was. I never meant to hurt you.”

Gotta Have It! Collectibles was attempting to sell 22 items – including a hairbrush containing Madonna’s hair and a pair of worn panties – at its Wednesday rock-and-roll-themed auction.

The iconic performer blames “former friend” Darlene Lutz for the memorabilia ending up with the auction house.

Lutz reportedly helped pack up Madonna’s Miami home when she moved out of the residence.

“Madonna and her legal army have taken what we believe to be a completely baseless and meritless action to temporarily halt the sale of Ms. Lutz’s legal property. We believe that her intent is nothing more than to besmirch the good reputations of the auction house and Ms. Lutz,” argues a Gotta Have It! spokesman.
