(AllHipHop News) Actress Nia Long is reuniting with LL Cool J on screen after joining “NCIS: Los Angeles” as a series regular.
The “Best Man” beauty will take on the role of Shay Mosely, the new executive assistant director of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service’s West Coast team.
“The character was created specifically for Nia to capitalize on her strengths and personality and we are excited about the new opportunities and dynamics she brings to the show,” executive producer R. Scott Gemmill tells The Hollywood Reporter. “We couldn’t be happier to have her join our family.”
She joins a cast led by LL Cool J, her co-star in 1999 movie “In Too Deep,” and Chris O’Donnell, and will make her debut in the NCIS spin-off in the season nine premiere in October.
Nia is no stranger to TV – she recently completed a stint on hit hip-hop drama “Empire,” and previously appeared on “Judging Amy,” “Third Watch,” and “Boston Legal.”
The news emerges days after Maria Bello signed on to star in the original “NCIS” crime drama for its upcoming 15th season.
