Steve Aoki Announces ‘Kolony’ Project Featuring Migos, Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert, 2 Chainz, Wale & More

THE EDM DEEJAY IS RELEASING HIS FIRST FULL RAP ALBUM

(AllHipHop News) Steve Aoki is returning with another body of work.

Following 2014’s Neon Future I and 2015’s Neon Future II, the Grammy-nominated EDM deejay is set to drop Steve Aoki Presents Kolony on July 21.

“When I was in the studio working on this project or a song with someone that made it to the album, they brought their own crew, and I’d turn around and be like, ‘this squad is like a colony,’” explains Aoki on the project’s title. “We’re like a colony, because it just felt like the energy in the room was more vibrant. It was a lot of energy from people flowing from the studio, and I loved that think tank, that group collaboration, and spirit.”

Kolony is Steve Aoki’s first full turn into making a rap music album.

The lead single from the effort is “Night Call” featuring Quality Control Music representatives Migos and Lil Yachty.

Aoki debuted the record at Austin’s JMBLYA festival in May.

Kolony will be released via Aoki’s Dim Mak Records.

The label is also home to Philadelphia rapper and Jahlil Beats protégé Bok Nero who will appear on Kolony.

iLoveMakonnen, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, T-Pain, Ma$e, Wale, Lil Uzi Vert, Rich The Kid, Sonny Digital, Big Gigantic, and Jimmy October also contributed to the 10-track album.

Steve Aoki Presents Kolony is available for pre-order on iTunes.
