King Louie is Set to Make His Television Debut on BET’s “The Yard”

King Louie is heading to your television screen. The Chicago rapper is set to appear in the new BET scripted series The Yard. The show centers on a newly elected president (played by Tony-winning actress Anika Noni Rose) of the fictional Georgia A&M as she deals with the college’s freshman class.

It is still unknown as to what role The Drilluminati rapper will be playing, but he was spotted on the campus of Morehouse College to film scenes from the upcoming series.  He is expected to appear in the two hour pilot of The Yard, which is scheduled to premiere later this year.

This new venture into TV comes at a great moment for King Louie, especially since surviving a bullet to the head in December last year. He was shot multiple times in his hometown of Chicago just days before Christmas.  However he seems to have made a full recovery and is definitely living by the You Only Live Once motto. Why not try TV this time, right?

King Louie credits his OVO tattoo with being a guardian angel of all sorts, especially during this incident. Louie said he sent a message to Drake on Instagram that the owl saved his life.

Stay tuned for updates on The Yard and when you can catch King Louie’s television screen debut.
