Last night, Portland, Oregon, native Esperanza Spalding performed her rendition of "What A Wonderful World" at the Oscars, dedicated to those who have past away in the past year. In the midst of a new album release, Spalding is looking to shock the world - again.
In 2011 as a relative unknown, she surprised the music world and won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist at the 53rd Grammy Awards, now, Esperanza Spalding is back with her most anticipated album to date.
This jazz bassist and singer won the Grammy last year over fan favorites like Drake and Justin Bieber, and she's still keeping her music coming. Last week, (February 23), Spalding held a listening session in New York City for her fourth and latest album, Radio Music Society. Only a few writers were invited to attend the session, and they were exposed to 12 videos, all of which will be a part of the deluxe package of her new album.
