(AllHipHop Features) The 19th annual BET Awards was an evening to remember as it honored some of the biggest legends, icons, and humanitarians of African-American culture as well as the rising stars at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The evening went from a night of stars gracing the "Nipsey Blue" carpet to a night of electrifying performances live from LA Live.
Before all of the action, AllHipHop caught up with O.T. Genasis on the Nipsey Blue carpet to discuss his debut album, Beyonce dancing to his music, and more.
AllHipHop: How does it feel to see the late, great Nipsey Hussle honored tonight?
O.T. Genasis: Ah man, this is crazy man. I'm definitely looking forward to this, this tribute. I definitely want to see what they got up their sleeve. How they gone do this. Because when you do this, you gotta do this right. So it's going to be a lot of people watching this. The streets gonna be watching this. The hood gonna be watching this. Everybody gonna be watching this. Then we gotta blue carpet down here. It's a movie.
AllHipHop: How does it feel to see Beyonce dance to your music at her shows?
O.T. Genasis: Man it's amazing and it's a blessing. When I first put the song out, I put the song out and a lot of people and DJs were like man that don't sound like the normal O.T. that we be getting. I'm like but I think it's hard. Like 2 or 3 months later here she go. Boom! I was like I told yall. She did "Cut It" in one of her tours and "Everybody Mad" on one of her tours.
AllHipHop: What's next for O.T.?
O.T. Genasis: Next thing man is the album. This summer I'm going to drop my first album. I've never dropped an album ever in my life. I've dropped single after single after single after single. So I'll be dropping an album, having a whole lot of fun, and staying turnt.
