Before all of the celebrating inside the awards, AllHipHop hit the Nipsey Blue carpet to talk with some of today's hottest artists. AHH got a chance to chat with Rapsody about her forthcoming album, working with Nipsey Hussle and more!
AllHipHop: We lost the late, great Nipsey Hussle, and he's being honored today with the Humanitarian Award. Do you have a fondest memory with him or favorite moment or song?
Rapsody: Of course my favorite song would be the song we did together "Never Know". Just a time for us to create. I remember we recorded out here at his studio with 1500 or Nothing. He's just so humble and loving and talented. Just to watch him working and share that moment. The last time I saw him was at the Roc Nation Brunch. He's always glowing, and it's just always a light. We gone miss him. I wish he was here to really smell the flowers he's receiving and the garden across the world, but the best thing we can do is never ever allow the world to forget who he is and what he represented. Nip forever.
AllHipHop: What are you currently working on?
Rapsody: I just finished an album. I turned it in. So that should be coming this summer like around August. I wish I could tell more. I'm excited for people to hear it and put it out in the world and see how they perceive it. I told the best stories that I could, so I'm going to see how they connect when we put it out.
