The evening before the REVOLT Music Conference officially kicked off was just as action packed as the days that would follow. The conference featured a live broadcast from REVOLT's flagship music and news show, REVOLT Live. With REVOLT's mission to lead the culture with exclusive performances, news, and interviews, this segment of the conference featured performances from Bia, Tory Lanez, Steph Lecor, Rotimi, and Sevyn Streeter. The night also ended with a welcome reception that featured Sean "Diddy" Combs receiving the keys to Miami Beach, F.L. and REVOLT's C.E.O. Keith Clinkscales conducting a Q&A with Mark Ecko (Owner of Complex).
Toronto singer/rapper/songwriter Tory Lanez has been grinding for a while with his series of dope mixtape releases and ghostwriting for some of the biggest artists in the game! He went from homeless to the Billboard charts! Lanez is bringing you Hip Hop & R&B with his own touch of "swavey." He calls himself a swavey artist because he has the talent to fuse more than one genre together and still make it his own. Lanez loves to create art and quality music; he suggests that it's not about being in one lane. Lanez has now given listeners his first major single with “Say It,” which features a nice sample of '90s R&B group Brownstone's "If You Love Me."
AllHipHop caught up with Tory Lanez to discuss his hit record "Say It', what led to him sampling Brownstone's '90s classic "If You Love Me" for the record, flipping and being inspired by the '90s & 2000s music, wanting people to just love and enjoy his music, loving to rap and sing, and more. Check out the interview below!
