(AllHipHop News) Late rapper Prodigy’s autopsy results have been put on hold pending a toxicology report.
The Mobb Deep star passed away on Tuesday (June 20) after falling ill over the weekend, following a show in Las Vegas.
The band’s publicist revealed the “Survival of the Fittest” star was found unconscious on Tuesday morning after being hospitalized “for complications caused by a sickle cell anemia crisis”.
According to TMZ, the star choked on an egg in hospital on the morning of his passing. It’s unclear whether or not the choking incident contributed to his death.
His autopsy has been completed by the Clark County Medical Examiner but the results will not be released until a toxicology report is available in six to eight weeks.
Prodigy, real name Albert Johnson, reportedly had to be pulled out of a fan meet-and-greet event on Saturday at the Art of Rap Fest 2017 after his security team noticed he was struggling.
His sickle cell crisis was allegedly triggered by the extreme desert temperatures that reached 110 Fahrenheit during the concert.
