Tef Poe Lovingly Chides Kanye West On “Back Home Kanye”

Tef Poe, the rapper from St. Louis, is not holding back in a new song about Kanye West.

(AllHipHop News) Damn, Ye. Tef Poe, the activist and rapper, tells Kanye, “Your human dignity ain’t worth the shit that they gon' take you through... They hate Black people, but they love Black music. How the f**ck you love a man that’s for apartheid? How the f**ck is he your brother? You on the dark side.”

“For a lot of us this isn't a game, the world is becoming an increasingly more chaotic place," he explains on why he mad the song. "I have opinions outside of the song but instead of tweeting my thoughts, I decided to vent by cutting this freestyle. This is all theatre on a certain level and I decided to participate in the production by speaking for the people that don't necessarily have a seat at the table.”

Tef Poe is a 2017-2018 Nasir Jones Hip-Hop Fellow at Harvard University’s Hutchinson’s Center. A St. Louis rapper, Tef is a former undefeated 106 & Park Freestyle Friday champ, who emerged as one of the prominent community organizers in Ferguson following the murder of Mike Brown and the Ferguson uprisings. He has remained committed to the Movement for Black Lives and Hands Up United all the while opening for Run The Jewels on regional dates and teaching a class on TuPac at the Denver Lift School of Theology.
