Hard sampling with rough lyrics and storytelling is the styles he adopted. His inspirations include Biggie Smalls, 2pac

(AllHipHop Music) Born in the Bronx - the birthplace of Hip-Hop - since moved to North Carolina Sabataj always carries that old school New York persona. His father was an almost successful rapper, but gave it up to go back to college.

Taj was faced with overwhelming stress, anger, and depression at a very young age, which is when he started writing rhymes and turned his struggles into music. Taking on the name “Sabataj,” he picked up the mantle which his father left him. Though he no longer lives there, the New York presence is still visibly in him through his language, attitude, and style of rapping.

Him actually moving away from his birthplace made him love it and embrace it even more. He always favored the type of hip hop with meaning and actual lyrics to it, specifically to the likes of East Coast Rap. Hard sampling with rough lyrics and storytelling is the styles he adopted. His inspirations include Biggie Smalls, 2pac, Jay-Z and Nas.
