Singer/songwriter Jane Handcock has written songs for artists with personalities and energy as big as Rick Ross, so it should come as no surprise that when it's time to party she knows how to get things popping! In her new video for Where's Jane? Series 1.5 standout track "Function," Jane is partying the day away with the squad...and as the scene shifts to an abstract background she's reminiscent of Missy Elliot with some trippy movements over this super groovy beat.
"Function" is a more lighthearted offering than the feels-heavy ballads we know and love her for: Steelo no ego/ This here we got is regal/ I don’t fall in love, prohibido/ ‘Cause mi amor is too tough and lethal. As Ms. Handcock’s voice adds multiple fly patterns over a track that sounds simultaneously upbeat and smooth, it's clear this song is its own MOOD.
Fortunately for us, it's not the only one. Jane is also releasing a new EP, Where's Jane? Series 2 TODAY and you can peep the whole project right here. Don't sleep on this talent!
