(AllHipHop News) Danielle “070 Shake” Balbuena is one of the artists that supplied flair to Kanye West’s latest LP Ye. The up-and-coming performer is still introducing herself to mainstream audiences, and her work with Kanye is likely to help that effort.
070 Shake’s breakout moment arrives after releasing 2018’s Glitter EP. Beats 1 radio caught up with the New Jersey-bred musician for an interview about her efforts with the G.O.O.D. Music team.
“They called me to go out there. I didn’t really know what I was going out there for,” said Shake about her time recording in Wyoming with West. “I was helping out with writing. Then I just started doing references.”
She continued, “I did some and showed them to [Kanye]. He liked it and then kind of forgot about them. At the end, he was like, ‘Oh yeah, these exist. They’re fire. Let’s go.’ I didn’t even know what was gonna happen or that I was gonna be on there until the last moment when they played it at the listening party. I was like, ‘Oh, okay. Dope.’”
070 Shake has been a main contributor to Kanye’s “7 Series” of albums. The singer/rapper’s vocals can be heard on “Ghost Town” and “Violent Crimes” off Ye as well as the “Santeria” track from Pusha T’s Daytona.
