16-Year-Old BOE Sosa Arrested For Armed Robbery, Faces Being Tried As An Adult

Cops claim the rising rapper is connected to Sacramento area gangs.

(AllHipHop News) According to news reports, North California rapper BOE Sosa is being held without bail in Yuba County. The 16-year-old was arrested in connection to an armed robbery after the alleged victims apparently identified him from his own music videos.

Sosa could be tried as an adult in the case. Local police also consider the Mozzy camp member to be gang affiliated, a trend authorities believe is growing among up-and-coming artists in the area.

"That's activity that a lot of the young aspiring rappers are engaging in to be able to get some name notoriety," claimed Sacramento County Sheriff's Gang Suppression Unit Sgt. Brad Rose.

Mark Reichel, an attorney for some Sactown rappers, pushed back against that generalization. The lawyer said, "There's a lot of straight rap that obviously doesn't involve criminality."

BOE Sosa has built a noticeable buzz around records like "Off The Porch" and "Keep It With Me." The teenage newcomer was exposed to WorldStarHipHop's 12 million YouTube subscribers when the "Hell And Back" video was uploaded to the outlet's page in March.

Police have not released Sosa's real name because he is a minor. The Oak Park native is accused of stealing three pounds of marijuana at gunpoint and could face a 10-year sentence if convicted as an adult.
